At the start, Aydin named the band "Jack of Tears," but the band wasn't successful because there was a recurring problem with the members. After 4 years of constant line-up changes, Aydin refused to work with the other members, the band disbanded, and Aydin decided to work alone on his projects.
After some time, Aydin met Hadi Kiani, one of the most succesful musicians in Iran, having had much experience playing live as a guest musician, and also with his own band POD (as a keyboard player), who played a tribute to Dream Theater. Together, Aydin and Hadi started a new progressive metal project, but it was abandoned.
In 2006 Aydin decided to start again with new songs and the recording of a demo. He also wanted to invite some guest musicians to play on his demo; thus, he changed the name of the band to “MALCONTENT”.
During his military service, Aydin contacted Hadi again, and asked him to sing on his songs for a demo. Hadi agreed, and started to work on the songs; after a while, he offered to form a band with Aydin. The offer was taken up, and they started to write songs together.
After finishing the songs, it was the time to invite other musicians to join Malcontent. Hadi asked Navid Naima to play bass and Shahin Effatian (one of the most talented drummers) as they had already played together for a band called 5grs.
Malcontent is currently recording songs in their own studio, in the hope that a label will sign them and release their material in album form.
