The Bambir comes from ancient times, when the traveling musicians in South Caucasus called themselves Bambir and considered music to be the “dictionary” on their way of understanding life and the world.
“Bamb” means loud from Armenian, and this is why a rock band created in 1978 in Gyumri, Armenia, was named Bambir. Several years later a younger generation band took the same name, Bambir, to be the continuation of the old tradition and the beginning of a new one.

Beginning

As children, Narek and Arman, who began the younger generation Bambir, spent most of their time in the backstage of the Gyumri theatre. This and the music of the older Bambir started their interest with art and music.

At the age of nine, in 1992, they met Arik, and this was the first time when they felt they could make some noise, which people would call music.
