At the beginning the idea for this music came from Natch and his sister, Setareh, when they were playing music together back at home. Natch played the acoustic guitar and Setared improvised vocal melodies for what he was playing. They thought of starting a music project together and name it "Go Out to Eat" and started recording demos.

Natch and Maral met through N! Gathering, the biggest underground rock concert ever held in Iran. Natch was there as lead guitarist of the band Dative and Maral was there to be the very first female rock singer on stage in Iran.
They shared some ideas while doing sound check and found a very similar taste of music in themeselves.
N! Gathering turned to a very big evernt after arresting more than 200 guests and musicians by police and naming rick music, satanic by iranian press and governments. All the musicians were held in jail up to 21 days. But it didn't stop them and their desire for music and specially their friendship.
Maral was in Abu Dhabi when Natch talked to her about "Go Out To Eat" and asked her for some help and ideas.
Maral decided to go back to her hometown to work more on her music and at the sane time Setareh decided to work more on her talent in painting and left "Go Out To Eat"; and Natch asked Maral to join the band.
They changed the band's name to "The Plastic Wave" and decided to start fresh and different. Maral completed what Setareh had started before and wrote lyrics and vocal lines. They finished recording the home edition of their album on autumn 2008.
The Plastic Wave started as a Psychedelic Rock/Trip Hop band under influence of bands like Archive and Massive Attack but now is going to change its style to Electronic, influenced by Goldfrapp, IAMX, Aaron and ...
The Plastic Wave is working on new and different sounds.
Maral was born in April 1985 in Tehran/Iran.
She showed her passion for music and performing at age of 6 by lip syncing 80's hit songs for her parents at home. As new wave of rock music started in Iran in early 90's she found herself more in love with music.
Under influence of one of the greatest female musicians in Iran, Sima Bina who was her mom's friend and with help of her mom she started singing at a very young age.
As playing music is not considering as a job in Iran, especially for women (due to Islamic law singing and performing for women is not allowed) her family didn't take her interest to music serious. She continued studying and gave her dream up for a while. After finishing high school and finding herself accepted in two different universities, finally she made her decision to not to kill her dream and started playing bass guitar and instead of studying what she doesn't like she started studying music in Tehran Music Conservatory.
After one year she joined the band Kraken as bass player, which was a all female Heavy/Thrash Metal band playing cover songs from bands like Megadeth, Metallica, Carcass and Death.
While she was working more on her vocal abilities in Music Conservatory, she found herself more interested in singing than playing bass guitar and started recording demos and home.
She released her Debut single, The Savior in autumn 2005 and the result was good feedbacks from her teachers and friends and it gave her more positive energy to work more on her music as a singer.
After all problems and troubles she faced 'cause of being a female singer in an Islamic country and working with wrong people, and after N! Gathering she decided to leave Iran to Abu Dhabi to give herself a rest and started singing cover songs in a club for couple of months. But she couldn't forget her dream and love for playing and composing her own music, so she moved back to Iran and started "The Plastic Wave" with Natch.
These days except "The Plastic Wave", Maral is the lead singer of two other bands, White City and 5grs.
White City is an international Progressive Lo-Fi band based in Kabul/Afghanistan, started by people from different countries who live and work in Kabul.
Maral was invited to the band as guest vocalist for their tour in Tajikistan by Travis Beard, band's
bass player, who met Maral while he was working on an article about Iranian Forbidden Music Scene. After doing their first show in Dushanbe at Irish Pub, white city decided to invite her to stay with the band not as a guest vocalist but as a band member. They had a very successful tour in Tajikistan and left with great memories.
Maral joined 5grs after former singer, Sanam left the band. 5grs is the first Heavy/Thrash Metal band with female vocalisy in Iran. 5grs is going to perform on November 27th in Metal Front festival in Armenia.
Maral is personally very influenced by Madonna and Sherly Manson (Garbage) and she enjoys performing on stage more than anything in the word.

Natch (Saeid Nadjafi) was born in 1983 in Tehran/Iran.
"The only part I liked was the song", It was the very first time he felt he is interested in music, after watching The Unicorn", when he was just 3 years old. Back at primary school, he learned to play a few songs on his uncle's small keyboard and started performing them at school in different ceremonies. Nobody took his passion for music serious and it was forgotten for long time. He started writing short stories at young age, stories like "Perfect Day", "3/3", "Pi" and... While he was good at writing and received lots of great feed backs about his stories, but it wasn't enough for him.

After long time as he started his studies in university in 2002 he bought a cheap guitar to purchase his childhood dreams. He started saving money to buy all the equipments he needed for playing the music he likes, and it was delightful.

He played bass guitar in various bands for a short period of time. Because of his passion for electronic and industrial music he started "B-DAAD" and then "THE PLASTIC WAVE". There are lots of musicians and bands that have influence on his music but the most important band as his influence is NINE INCH NAILS and Trent Reznor.
At present time, while he's graduated from university in the field of Chemistry, beside music, he's working as web and graphic designer.

Recently The Plastic wave is joined by its new member, Shayan.
He's the guest guitarist of the band for SXSW festival on March 2009.
